It's just one of those days i wonder why my kid sister refuses to grow up.... even after she has officially hit TWENTY ONE.

 

Went for dinner with mummy & sister on Sunday 26th Nov 06 and we went to this huge supermarket (Sheng Siong) that has got everything!

 

Dear sister came across couple of really cute KIDDISH bags and ..... well, look at the pictures and you'll understand why i said what i said!!!!!!

 

 

Went for Synovate Paintball Championship - an event organised by Synovate, last evening. It was my first time playing paintball.

And boy! was it fun!!!!! Got myself 2 bruises (which i reckon is really nothing much) plus severely mud stained pants, top & boots (fell down while running all over the place - the field was like super muddy due to the rains the past few days). Our team did not win but it was truly an unforgettable experience! Pity it's a tad expensive if you are to organise something like that with you friends. Be ready to fork out at least $60 - $100 per pax! (Good thing i got to experience it without paying a single cent!!!! hahaha )

 

 

 

I finally splurged on a digital camera yesterday....

 

It's not that much of a splurge depending on your idea of splurging... but spending S$499 on an item is considered a splurge for me!

 

Anyways, am still trying to figure out what the camera can do...seems quite awesome to me (I am a mountain turtle la...).

My best friend, Annette brought me to a rather obscure restaurant at Bukit Pasoh for dinner today.

 

We've been trying to try hairy crabs for like the longest time but never managed to cos we either miss the season or we miss the season.

 

Hahaha.... but oh well, as a post birthday celebration.... my dearest fren made a booking at a restaurant called Capital Restaurant (who supposedly has famous hairy crabs!)

 

As far as it goes, it taste like crab (am not exactly a connoisseur of food and drink)....

 

Overall, I've to say that the roe was delicious thou!

 

Casino Royale... surprisingly good.

 

But being typically shallow... was most heartbroken by the complete annihilation of the awesome Aston Martin DBS!!!!!!!!

 

So here's a preview how how nice it WAS before it was destroyed!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

Junlong, my godson.... is ONE YEAR OLD today!

 

Such joy... he was really so cute! He seem to know that it is his special day today.

Plenty of delightful events this week...

 

Today - 18th Nov 2006 is my parent's 28th wedding anniversary....

 

As a rule of thumb... even if there's no mega celebration, we have to have dinner together as a family. (Yes yes, my parents aint that romantic no more but hey, i did catch a rather illicit looking picture of them sharing an intimate moment. Hahah...  )

 

We went to Boon Tiong Kee (VERY DELICIOUS CHICKEN RICE!) at Balestier... very very yummy! So yummy that my crazy bro ate like 10 bowls of rice!!!!!  

 

Haha! I was juz joking.... he had four. Check out the delicious (and greedy looking people) pictures. - I remembered to take picture after we had almost wiped everything clean of cos... but cant blame me. Good food is always a distraction!

 

Time/Date: 1155pm 15th Nov 2006

 

Five minutes before 16th Nov 2006... I received the long awaited sms from one of my sister's fren (it was a conspiracy).

 

Msg: "Throw Rubbish...."

 

What i did: Pretended to bring the rubbish out... came back in without locking the main door and went into the room to wish my sister happy 21st birthday and give her 21 birthday kisses (shamelessly requested by my sister). 

 

My sister's state of mind: She was sleepy and abt to fall asleep...

 

Next thing that happened: Our room door was kicked open and her frens (Peihong, Weiyan, Simin, Sheila, Jeremy) rushed in with a birthday cake in dark and burst into song! (Ben came when only went they starting eating).

 

Cake + Supper = $30

 

Presents (A Le Coq jacket + a fossil watch) = $200

 

Look on my sister's face = PRICELESS.

I woke up this morning feeling kind of blue
and I stumbled out of bed
and dragged my feet across the room
Right outside my front door was a rose

But out on the street it starts to pour
and before I get soaking wet,
A total stranger runs to give me

I turn around to thank him
But he waves me with a smile
I can hardly believe my eyes
He puts on a halo and starts to fly

 

 

I met a good friend for lunch
and we had a delicious meal
But I forgot to bring my wallet
I felt like an imbecile
But she was sweet, she gave me a treat and
Bought me a chicken sandwich
To take home for tea

 

But out on the street with nothing to eat
A man and his shopping cart go
Travelling to places,
Collecting social graces
I give him my sandwich
and we chatter for a while...

 

Sometimes the simplest things can be the most delightful...

 

Had a simple dinner at Terra (Bugis Junction) with Nicole, Amelia, my mum and my sister today... before we headed off to Brekos for some more drinks, cake cutting, and some catching up.

 

It was a nice, simple and comfortable night.... the way it should be.

Went to Marina South for BBQ steamboat dinner with my family last saturday.

 

The store my sister brought us to was pretty good actually. They actually gave a container of live prawns which were like jumping up and down loh! It was scary... We din dare to touch it or cook it and left it to our dad to do it but the funniest part was he din know they were like LIVE (cos he was parking his car when the prawns were given to us and by the time he sat down it was all quiet) ! So he poured the contents onto a plate and what follows was a scene taken out of a cartoon! We were scrambling around trying to get hopped away prawns.... sis and mum was like panicking, dad caught the prawns but held it the wrong way and so you see the prawns hop hop hop out of his hands and the story goes on... Brother and Alvin came to the rescue eventually (i trust they were highly entertained) and taught them how to hold the prawns the correct way so that they wun struggle (they often go prawn fishing with the bunch of boys).

 

Now, you must be wondering where i was while the drama was unfolding.... I was actually seated across the table from my dad so the action was really not within my vicinity and thus, i could pretend to be nonchalant! Muahahahah!

 

Oh well, it was a nice cool night for BBQ steamboat dinner. Sister was basically the star even though it was supposed to be a combined celebration for my 27th birthday, her 21st birthday and my parent's 28th wedding anniversary (14Nov, 16Nov & 18Nov). I really din mind taking backstage... you only become 21 once in your life. Love my sister!!!

 

Anyways, we concluded our night with a simple game of bowling and after 27 years, my sister decides to inform me that my footwork is completely wrong! Haahaa... it was funnie thou. But i guess part of the reason is becos i am ambidextrous so certain things i follow the left hander style and certain things i follow the right hander style and certain things, i combine! Hahahaha.... so basically, i am supposed to start walking with my right foot and my left foot shd be in front when i am releasing the ball (using my right hand) but i started walking with my left foot and ended with my right foot in front when i released the ball (using my right hand). Resulting in my right leg kinda blocking my own right hand plus a higher chance of my bowling ball to go crooked! Now, thatz a combination move from an ambidextrous girl!

 

 

 

 

Had the opportunity to try the much talked about squid ink pasta last friday.

 

Colour: Itz basically one plate of black coloured noodles with black coloured squid and black coloured cod fish.

 

Smell: Surprisingly, it smells pretty good.... like a nice lovely plate of fried pasta.

 

Taste: Once again, surprisingly... it tastes pretty good.

 

Downside - during the meal, you will have rather black lips/teeth and etc. Not a fabulous choice for the glamourous romantic dinner. The black stains can be wiped off but it seem to take quite a number of wipes before it goes away. Doesn't stain the teeth after the meal so no worries!  But one main turn off is be prepared to "stain" your toilet bowl when you dispose of yesterday's meal (I tot i must be seriously sick!! Until i remembered what i ate the day before). Hahahaha!

 

Overall Impression: Good to try. No harm done.

A fire broke up one floor above mine, about 2 houses away today.

 

Heard from my mum that 3 big fire engines, 2 smaller ones plus 4 police cars pulled in @ abt 1630 today. And it was like whoaaaaaaaaa! some kind of drama manz!

 

I came back and i could see the house from my room. The entire corridor area was charred! There were still so many policemen around... heard the fire broke out from the master bedroom. 2 rooms were completely burnt down. Not sure about what is the damage to the rest of the house thou. Shall look out for the news tomorrow.  

 

Sigh...good thing was there was no one at home when the fire broke out. Bad thing was the dog was burnt to death...
