    The Swerver

I mean, i've seen cars who swerve and i've seen cars who swerveeeee.... I mean, I've even seen people who swerve (of which i could never figure out how come walk halfway can swerve... that bugger was possibly super drunk in the middle of the day. )

But i say, I've never seen a car who swerve 5 times in a row.... I was seriously very worried for my life and was trying to keep my distance for fear of being knocked down by crazy woman.

    Scenario:
Ewey was travelling leisurely (as much as she can) early in the morning... tooting her way to her office when all of a sudden, crazy car swerved out of 4th lane into half of 3rd lane and swiftly swerve back into the 4th lane. So ewey tot, must be becos there's another car coming up close behind and driver spotted it when she checked her blind spot.... but the traffic was clear!!!!!! So Ewey continued tooting along... and then it happened again! And again... and again! And each time, there's no car coming up in her blind spot....

If it was a mechanical problem with the car... i reckon she would have quickly drove to the shoulder and stop her car or something. But she din... the last i saw and i toot slowly behind, i saw her driving somewat normally. Hence... THE SWERVER (i swear she will possibly do that again maybe 5 mins down the road...). *muahahaha*

Peggy comes back from HK for a visit

A friend of mine who left for HK to work (she's originally from HK but came to Sgp with her family when she was young) came back to sgp for a 2 week holiday and she was sweet enuff to squeeze in a night to meet up with a couple of us for dinner. It was really rather nice to see that Peggy hasn't changed much (only 1 yr la!) but i do sense a slight possibility of her starting to speak the hongkong english.

Anyways, with her grand arrival... we managed to get Wei wei to turn up with her lovely baby ariel (she did mention that the time span before baby Ariel throws a tantrum is approximately 2 hours, so it's kinda hard for her to go out considering the fact that she's a stay-at-home-mum!) and boy! Baby Ariel is really one cutesy girl!

Peggy also bought a HUMONGOUS packet of peeled chestnuts (upon my request of cos... just that she din accept my money!) which i thought looked really cute! It's like me and mini me! *muahahahaha*

Check out the few pictures I've managed to snap (while i was trying to tear myself away from my delicious steak) of the lovely dinner....

    Brittle?

It's one thing to fall off my bike and get injured due to accidents or watsnots.... I can accept that it may jolly well be unavoidable.

BUT it's downright embarrassing to fall down while walking (note: NO OBSTACLES in sight!!).... and even more embarraassing to just slip and fall with a cute little boy watching nearby...

I think... had i looked back (rather than quickly stand up and quickly walk away in case pple think i am doing a Charlie Chaplin re-enactment..), i'll probably see boy pointing at me, laughing super loudly and telling daddy "Why auntie walk halfway fall down!? She got 2 left legs!!!"

    *ewey sweat*

    Waking up with laughter...

It's really lovely to wake up laughing... despite the fact that it was actually caused by my sister falling off the bed into a gap between the chair, my mum's legs and the table. She was practically folded into two. What are the odds manz?!

That really got us laughing non-stop (which was a really great feeling at 8am in the morning)... and me running off like a mad woman trying to locate the camera to take down the priceless moments.

And it also got me thinking that it's really lovely when everyone wakes up with a jolly mood and most importantly, having a family that pretty much tries to stay jolly all the time. What good does it do to each member of the family to squabble, fight and watsnots? Does it make their day complete? I dun think so... in fact, whenever i have a fight with my sis (or anyone else)... i pretty much spend the rest of my day being miserable. That of cos, does not improve my productivity at work. I hear that it's pretty much the same for the rest of the family.

Am really thankful to have this unabashedly, most definitely madly insane family.

    Blithe Spirit

Had the wonderful opportunity to watch Blithe Spirit on Friday night... Do go catch it if you are able to get some tickets. It really cant go wrong with a strong cast like Selena Tan, Lim Kay Siu, Neo Swee Lin and Pam Oei... It's not slapstick fun... more like, intelligently witty smart fun....

    BLITHE SPIRIT is showing from:
    12 – 29 April 2007
Drama Centre Theatre @ National Library, Level 3
    Tickets from Sistic from $28

Here's some reviews for Blithe Spirit

"Witty dialogue, quality sound, well-fleshed characters and a competent cast made it a night to remember” - SPH Straits Times Life!

"Exuberantly light, deliciously frothy and wittily entertaining… a solid piece of theatrical production. - The Flying Inkpot

"Glen Goei’s ambitious production never missed a beat. The cast were superb, funny, quick, gay, all the things they should be.” - The Arts Magazine

"A welcome evening of unadulterated, side-splitting comedy you won't want to miss for all the world. If you see one show this year, this has got to be it.” - Get Asia.com

    Dad's birthday 13/04/07

It was my dad's birthday on Friday the 13th. I remembered how i first started to completely remember when my dad's birthday was.... that year, it was a good friday as well as friday the 13th. So filial hor? Muahahaha....

Anyways, this year we decided to go somewhere different (aka not marina south for steamboat buffet, not tiong bahru for supebly great & fresh fish and steamboat and most definitely not downstairs or teck whye for zhi char... ) and we brought the family to Westlake at Farrer Road. I swear the kong bah bao (aka meat bun) was simply yummilicious...

Funnie thing was, we were all really rather tired that nite... EVERY SINGLE one of us. So it was like a family of completely stoned fellas eating happily (oxymoron: happily stoned?)

Oh ya, another thing was...my family's reaction when my dad turned into the carpark of the HDB flat was the same (sis had the same reaction when i last brought her there just that I wonder if the rest of my family members are abit more sane than my silly sis... )...

Jerome: aye, daddy... where you going? why you turn here?
    Dad: the restuarant is here...
Joan: here got good food la...
    Jerome: i only see flats..
    Mum: Ya... wat food?!
    Joan: got la! it's upstairs!
    *Alvin continues sleeping... *

VS. (the previous time i brought joan there)

Joan: Jie.. where you going? Why you turn here?
    Me: the restaurant is here....
    Joan: here got wat food?!
    Ewey: got la..
Joan: dun bluff... you wanna sell me issit?
    *ewey sweat*

    - During the course of the dinner, my sister kept on talking abt the food being really tasty and that we should bring the rest of the family here for the next family dinner...

All in all... the food was great, the company was great (as usual...). Check out some of the pictures i took (psst: mum refuse to take any... and the camerawoman (ME) escaped being captured...but WE WERE THERE TOO OK!  )
