April 28 Quiche Quiche...A friend posted up her great creation last week on her blog and i was like... GIMME THE RECIPE!
Had a smashing good time making the quiche... but pity, the crust was a total disaster! It's what i call the "suck saliva" kind.
Shall try again soon... have to improve on the crust. Meanwhile, here's some snap shots of my first quiche!
April 21 Blue, yellow & green MondayYou know what is worse than having to come to work on a monday (esp after a superbly bad night's sleep the night before)?
Ans: Having to come to work on monday and witnessing some blooming fashion victim's dark green panties showing under her yellow flimsy dress. Complete with green shoes (wat?! Match your panties issit?!) and black bra.
Complete fashion faux pas.
Signed,
Turned off & Disgusted. April 16 Be Original...I clicked on this link out of curiousity (Celia's nickname was like..."Spot me in here!!!! http://www.celebrate-originality.jp/#/celebrate "
So i did.
I found her and added myself in as well! ;) *sucker*
spot me spot me!!! SIN(gapore) CITYArmed with an empty wallet and a superbly strong will... i took a bus from Eunos back to CCK after I visited Sumi.
Of cos i'd rather take a taxi and travel back home in less than 1/2 the time i need when i take the bus... but i was glad i took the bus anyways.
It had been forever since i passed by Geylang (read: RED LIGHT DISTRICT), but what really took me by surprise was... the truth of how blatant things have become!!!!
What a contrast.
Visiting pure innocence (Sumi's lil princess) vs witnessing decadence.
Along the main roads of Geylang, yummilicious food and drinks prevail and the area is often filled with food prowlers (me include). But behind the food paradise are the prostitutes and the pimps... Hiding in the smaller lanes amongst the hourly rated hotels and working their magic on the body prowlers.
That was before.
Now the protitutes and pimps and body prowlers are overflowing (yes. Overflowing) the main streets! The area is crowded with women standing around, shaking their booties, hands and boobs at any men that walk past. No target audience. Any age will do. From the teens to the grandfathers. You see them negotiating & checking the goods...
(Sidetrack: It makes me realise that there's really not much difference between the way a man shop and the way a woman shop. We see, we like, we check price. Then we think... maybe the shop further down has got better and cheaper. And we continue. Men shop the same way.)
Anyways, my reason for disliking "overseas workers" is justified. We've become more of a "Sin City" now... Sumi's Little Princess - RaeynaI love newborns. They are living proofs of the fact that life is a miracle. How nothing became someone...
Then again, aren't we all living proofs of the fact that life is a miracle? I reckon we all are.
But we no longer have that pure innocence of newborns. Unlike Sumi's little princess who arrived on 14.4.08... so cute.
April 14 Teatree...T3...Terminal Three?Sometimes i find it embarrasing that Singapore is so... un-creative. Keep it Short & Sweet is nice and all but calling the new terminal "T3" is just so DUH! We've really got the knack for doing such things... like renaming Singapore Science Centre as "Science Centre, Singapore". Can die can???
Well, anyways... ramblings aside, we went to visit the much hyped about new terminal @ Changi Airport after the birthday with my dad. And found it... like T1 & T2.
Wahahaha... ok ok, after the millions of $$ the govt spent on it... i'd better say something better.... Ewey thinks it's bigger and more beautiful... aesthetically much more than T1 & T2 and generally, a class act.
Spent some time walking around and eventually settled down for a nice cup of Ice Earl Vanilla @ Coffee Club with my family.
"I want this, this... and this!!!"
"And i want the very delicious strawberry shortcake..."
yummy yum yum... 13th April... A Special Day.So my dad's 46 now (or so he claims)...
Zealously clapping for himself... That's his present @ the side.
And the bro attempts a "C'mon, let the men in the house do it. Cut cake... BIG job."
Sister showing dad what's really inside the $8 "leather" belt he insisted on buying the last time.
If you were "46"... wouldn't you look as proud to bring your young wife out? Mega SaturdayHad a mega saturday last weekend with my mum, sis & bro...
Last thursday. we went to Ikea @ Alexandra and was most upset that it was under renovation. Not that it was not open (i'd rather they keep completely closed) or whatever but the fact is that many areas were closed anyways (the restuarant too!!! Travel all that way and no meatballs...). It was amazingly dusty, messy and a completely terrible experience.
So.. we decided to try and head down to the other end of the country to visit the MEGA Ikea over the weekend! In between we also managed to go to Courts Megamall (which i feel was so-so) and the giant GIANT. The walk from 1 building to another was quite surreal though... it was like, i was not in singapore!!!
Anyways, my verdict... ?
Ikea was MEGA!!
There's "I -could-have-a-soccer-match-here" type of space...
The displays look bigger...
Even the pots are bigger loh... April 10 Curry FavourI never understood Japanese Curry. It's sweet. Unacceptable in my terms.
BUT... I had an opportunity to head down to this restaurant called Curry Favour during lunch today... and found that it's not ALWAYS that bad. (website: http://www.curry-favor.com/site/japanesecurry.php)
I believe i still don't understand jap curry... in other restaurants.
But I would say this is acceptable. Can eat. In fact, it's really rather not bad at all.
Sooooooooooo... if it's just the sweet-ish taste of japanese curry that deters you from eating it... you can head down to curry favour, and order "extra spicy" for that extra omph.
