November 05 Palagarism??? And the supermarkets....Been meaning to put this up a long time ago…
Was in a cab one gloomy morning when I looked out of the window and saw one of the most amusing thing ever...
Guess wat I saw?
*drum roll*
A van with these 2 words splashed across the sides… “CASKET FAIRPRICE”. Followed by “One-stop Casket and Funeral Service”
Eh, to be honest… that was one of the most “FWAH” thing I’ve ever seen!!! Morbid yeah but FWAH too!
And immensely brilliant! I mean what can possibly bring across the message that THEY SELL EVERYTHING?! Just rip of the word “fairprice”!!!!
Afterall, NTUC fairprice sells everything from underwear to telly these days!
Now now... U there... Move on with the times already!!!!
Pst: I was so suddenly overwhelmed by the days where little provision shops rule and how econ-minimarts sprouted out and became the IN thing and now you really don’t see much of both anymore!
Ppst: Told a fren about this and she googled them out!!! http://www.casketfairprice.com/ Eh, no kidding man! They have value packages hor!!!
*Life continually amazes me* September 15 office pranks and the likes...July 07 i lub batmanSabo-ded my brother on his 21st birthday (29/076/09)
(evil plan hatched by sis and i)
I lub my batman bro!!!
Soon-to-be batman collapse with disbelief when he saw wat we prepared..
Batman's happening lychee martini birthday cake!
Malnutritioned batman and his catwoman
2/80 photos of his parade that night (his birthday party created the biggest bang that night actually)
And oh by the way, we really had fun!!!!!!! *evil cackle* Now singing: Lollipop by mikaA sacrificial lamb. Thatz what i am.
not that i was sacrificed on purpose.... it was more of a accidental sacrificial lamb.
Anyhows, following the most exciting thing that happened in phuket... I came back and faced another one of those really suay things... as combat wombat says - "gives a whole new meaning to "death frm above"".
I blame mum again. Oh... actually i blame murphy.
Went with the family to the vetinary surgeon to check on some complications due to his surgery 2 months back... came out of the clinic and was heading towards dad's car.... walking out of the carpark entrance with only 1 thought in mind... "i need dinner!".... and before i knew it.... carpark barrier came slamming down on top of my head and snapping my jaw shut. (i know u just winced)
Anyways, I swear my feet got knocked into the ground like a nail.
Sis and mum was 2 steps behind me.... when the carpark barrier came BEARING down on me.
Hence, sacrificial lamb. - my pain for their safety.
Signing off with love,
swellhead. wong wong wong... my surname.... or maybe not?
Or maybe... wong wong wong, xiao mi feng... fei dao xi, fei dao dong.
Before u decide to close the stupid window and give up on my blog for the rest of ur life.... WAIT!!!
Let me relate the most exciting thing that happened to me in Phuket....
It was not exciting cos it was my first trip to thailand...
It was not exciting cos of the shopping (I din even buy anything actually)
It was not exciting cos of the food (I din even eat much)
It was not exciting cos i got loads and loads of sun (it was cloudy/rainy most of the time i was there)
It was not exciting cos my flight there was delayed by over 3 hours (wasting my first day there)...
It was EXCITING...
*drum roll*
Cos i got stung by a bee.
On my tongue.
*oh! stop giggling already*
I blame my mum for distracting sms that got me so troubled i did not realise a bee had happily gotten drunk in my can of soft drink... which i obviously tried drinking... and was subsequently talsking lsike a sooopeed lsgirl wisssh a ssssort tsongue for a long long while (and praying i dun die from poisoning).
signing off with love,
swelltongue June 04 The little thief!!!March 20 Hongkeekong and the big bubble...Warning: LONG POST!
I seem to have really lagged far behind in the blogging... maybe cos i've been too busy?
Gaming.is.time.consuming. LOL... WOW is AWESOME!!! *woots*
Ok ok... Not that nothing else is happening in my life... there are loads of little things that i've missed jotting down.
Little & big things actually... good and bad both.
But letz forget abt the bad things...
a short update of what's been happening...
1. I went hongkong (YES!! FINALLY) between 1st Mar to 7th Mar 09 and had the time of my life sight seeing, shopping and eating and shopping and eating and sight seeing and everything! i love hongkong. i do! i really do! Esp when the weather is nice @ abt 15-18 degrees celcius...
Sightseeing:
i did everything touristy that i could possibly squeeze in! Went to Macau and stepped into a casino for the first time! LOL (yes yes, i know i'm like super laggard right?!)... went to the St Paul's ruins, and also to the rather new Venetian. Gosh that place (Macau) is like a postcard heaven... itz so quaint!!! Pity i spent only a few hours there (becos stupid me forgot to bring my passport @ first!!!! So the whole day got delayed... *sobs*). i would have loved to stay a night at least... (plans next trip).
Managed to go to Ocean Park (saw An An, Le Le, Ying Ying and Jia Jia) and The Peak (took a silly picture with Bruce but did not go into Madam Tussards *plans next trip*), Walked down the Avenue of Stars and gushed at how small/big/ugly the stars' handprints were.... bitched abt Nic Tse's dad's handprint being super light cos he got no energy to press down cos too old liao... insisted on taking pictures of the 4 heavenly kings' handprints (back in my days!!)!!! Found out that Lin Ching Hsia's engrish name is Brigitte... amongst other things!
Oh, i also managed a trip to Lantau Island (some frens say itz the place with a rude name!!!) - but did not manage to see the place in it's fully glory thanks to the super super bad fog!!! *plans next trip* ...
Anyways, i took ferries, cable car rides, tram rides and even what the hongkongers call "DING DING"... Gosh! what an experience... itz like stepping into a TVB drama!!! LOL!!!! (quite obviously - ewey's a TVB drama fan!!).
Shopping:
Good grief! things are not cheap... seriously. but still, i had a couple of good buys + plenty of nonsense buys. I think i possibly spent 50% of my shopping time in H&M (both in mongkok and central), 30% in Tung Chung (a mall near the airport - all the outlets inside are crazy! Esp if u are into the sports stuffs - like the nikes & the adiddas of the world... ) and 20% wandering ard... I am wondering if i should classify buying goose and pigeons (freaking expensive i tell u!!!) back home under shopping or eating!!!! *thinks very hard* - ah.. watever!!!
Eating:
i ate and ate and ate and din gain a single gram. cos i walked and walked and walked and walked... gosh! i've not walked that much since i left Fort Siloso! Not to mention, the crazy central area is made up of slopes and more slopes. Steep slopes. semi steep slopes, downhill, uphill... dammit, you name it... they have it.
At some point one of the nights, when we were looking for the bleddy tram to go up to the peak... i squatted down in the middle of the pathway halfway up yet another slope and told ginny, "i cant go on!!!!"
Oh... but i digress!!! Food.is.great.in.hk!!! Seriously!!! itz yummy... i am the ambassador of unhealthy food!!! LOL... i love the maggi mees, the cafe-styled food that are in abundance there! and special thanks to ming for bringing us to "Lan Fong Yuen" for delicious pork chop noodles (amongst other things!!! - like letting us stay at her place for free, showing us ard despite her beesy schedule). Oh, i digressed yet AGAIN!!! Anyways, what was mostest memorable was the beef brisket noodle that ginny made us eat 4 times in 7 days!!! LOL... thatz like 20% of total meals!!! *talk abt being addicted*
And egg tarts - in different forms! I usually dun like the crusty kind cos i dun like the "suck saliva" feeling (Ewey's term for food that makes ur mouth completely dry the moment u put them in. Usual suspects: biscuits, crusts, pastries, egg yolks... ) but the egg tarts were YUM!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE I ATE!! LOL!!
2. I went to the funfair with my parents and siblings and behaved like i was 5yrs old all over again!!! bumper car rides are sooooo soooo fun!!! (i'd have to admit i was quite worried my dad will break some bones thou!!! He's not young already! 65yrs old with 3 "kids".... HAHAHHA!)
And seriously... kids have so much fun these days! check out the following picture!!!
GIANT BALLOONS that ate kids!
January 13 My bottle Of Potion Of Minor RejuvenationOk, i din have any NEW YEAR NEW ENTRY kind of thing. No new year resolutions. nothing. My only resolution is to give up on resolutions! LOL!!!
Anyways, the whole point of this sudden entry is cos i am soooooo amused!!!!
Background: it's been quite awhile since i worked late.... And unfortunately for me, i had to do so last night. Some more is the kind, cannot finish cannot go home!!!! *sob*
(After a late night... )
I came in this morning to receive this....
LOL... those who know wat i'm currently hooked on, will so understand why i got this!!!
AAAAnd i'm actually very entertained and very touched by the cute little act. :p December 31 Birks spree...Christmas Cookies!I am so back blogging!!!!! Been so busy recently!!!! Seriously.... busy busy busy!
Anyhows, most of the peeps received this for Christmas this year... hope no one found it to be too "low value".
Following pictures show wats actually inside!!! LOL....
These took the longest time!!! Anyways, loved the icing work (first try actually).... had to outline with a mini stringe thou cos everything else was too thick and "chor lor". Am quite please with the outcome!
Honestly, I need bigger oven!!! With my current one, i can only bake like.... 12 cookies at any point in time *looks frustrated* December 23 Top 10 Things of wateverLXLB was calling for a list of top 10 things of watever.... cos she needs entertainment. I think... oh well, might as well...
Was thinking of top 10 things i wish to say to my boss but cant.... and i thought, NAH! i basically do throw quite a few things at her. Even things like "U like to volunteer me to another dept one hor??? Transfer me over la!" *complete annoyed look with pursing of lips*... so i guess, i pretty much have ruined my career so there.... nothing much i wun dare to say to her!
Then i thought... top 10 people i cannot stand. and i thought again... damn! i dun dislike that many pple. Just a few and i dun need to give them any more exposure here!
And then i thought... how about top 10 things i wanna spend money on but have no money to do it.... (and its really those extravagant kind!!!)... and i thought, sigh... why rub it in further???
And so... i shall just stick to LXLB's top 10 list of new year resolutions which i will obviously not fulfil!!!
10. Look like Tavia in Moonlight Resonance (aka lose abt 40% of my fluff... and oh, complete cosmetic surgury. DAMN! i have to change my whole face!).....
But den again, i would really prefer to look like her!!!
9. Get myself a really expensive bag... like really expensive (i must stop thinking about where i could go with the same amount of $$!!!).
8. Get my bike back! No... in fact, get my bike license upgraded and buy me a Hayabusa!!
7. Learn to enjoy drinking AND holding my alcohol! (so i stop getting suan-ded for once)
6. Go Tasmania and Hokkiado - during both lavender season AND winter!!
5. Stop rolling over my credit card bills.
4. Rock climb! (I wonder if i can even fit my paws on the little things protruding from the walls!)
3. Tell someone "Please leave me alone! Yes, I dun ever want to talk to you again!!" (someone please help me tell "forever optimistic"...)
2. Be tolerant towards stupid people. (And that does not include the above "forever optimistic")
And my number 1 item on the list.... *pretentiously drum roll as well*
1. Buy a really really big wok!!!! Those that the "zhi char" stall uses!! with like.... raving fire below!!!
LOL!!! I'm serious! Buy a big wok, have a big stove so i can cook to my heart's content!!!
(One day i received the above mms from my silly sis.... My mum and sis knows that's always my dream!!!)
Tadah!!!! December 18 Oh so creative limericks...I had to put this up!!!
Background: I came across this really funnie grafitti on the lift walls.... (and thot there's a VERY disturbed housewife in the block!)
"In the house and out of door,
Brushing teeth and scrubbing floor,
Washing, ironing, brewing tea...
sometimes making hokkien mee..."
Was sooooo entertained by it, i had to go around to share it!!
And it so happened that i thought j0k0 will appreciate it!!! .. and this was what she came back with -
"Out of door and in the house,
In came a little white mouse,
scurrying, squeaking and scaring me,
Just to steal a little hokkien mee..."
!!! So... not bad right?!?!?
AND a few days later... she created my very own personal limerick!!!! *LMAO*
"There once was a girl from Pricing,
Who was very much into cooking, She was always whipping up goodies, Much to the delight of her buddies, If only she’ll cook pearl & almond pudding..." .... the pearl and almond pudding story is a long and complicated one. but oh, i'm soooo very entertained!!! December 10 Her name is Elmo!!! it is not... thou she thinks it is. LOLL!!
Went for my little niece's 2nd birthday party last weekend and my dearest cousin decided to showcase this really special "talent" of Nicole.
Cuz: "nic nic, what is your name?"
Nic: *smile*
Cuz: "nic nic, i ask again ok? What is your name?"
Nic: "My name is elmoooo..."
We: *faint*
November 17 Happy Birthday Ewey Part 2 (sort of)Ginny The Great Sous ChefGinny the great sous chef finally invited me over on sunday for my long awaited steak!!!!
'nuff said... Let the pictures tell you a thousand words...
Busy.... and smoky. LOL!!!! And den she tried to dismantle the drawer!!! (she really is not a very glam cook is she???) HAHAH!
Picture must be abit blur... if not, all the unglamness will be too obvious!!! *cheeky smile* (She called me a dangerous thing! Was chased out of the kitchen dunno how many times!)
Finally we had food on the table! Taste: YUMMY! Presentation: Erh... can improve!!! HAHAHA!!!
Oh.. it's not just me who had the "fortune" to taste the great chef's work! The cutest couple... Jason and Doris were lucky enuff to be the guinea pigs too!!! LOL...

You must practice more!!! *waiting eagerly for next invite* Happy Birthday Ewey Part 1Just turned 29 in November and I'll be 30 in 2 months time!!! LOL!! -according to my sis... the logic is becos pple ask which yr you are born. If you say 1979, they will "oh! so you are 29 this yr???" and by January, I can just officially say "Yeah, 1979... so i'm 30 this yr" [even thou i just turned 29!!!]
I'm actually quite looking forward to it cos 30 is the NEW 20!!!! LOL!!!
So, anyways... it was quite a quiet birthday. No parties, just dinners - 13th Nov was dinner with godson and his mom, 14th Nov dinner with Joyce (lucky girl... she got the actual day!), 15th Nov dinner with godson and family (joint celebration wor! first time i shared a birthday cake with the godson.... ) and 16th Nov i got to cut a cake @ home (but also share one... but this is my usual share-er! Sis' birthday on 16th!!! But poor girl was quite sick... poor thing!)
13th November 2008
Junlong was going "I 要 this and i 要 that..." it was really quite hilarious! So i was going "我要 not I 要!" the whole night! LOL!!
And I found out the boy eats alot!!! He can finish everything in front of him! But why so skinny?! (I blame his mum! she's skinny one.. eat and wun grow fat. TMD!) And oh, one of those arty pictures taken by the godson himself! WELL DONE!!!

17th November 2008...
Nothing is happening today! But... tomorrow is another story! We are celebrating the fact that my parents did not kill each other after 30 yrs!!! *woots* November 12 As I mature...I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is to stalk them and hope they panic and give in.
I've learned that no matter how much i care, some people are just assholes.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better have a big willy or huge boobs.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
I've learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be alot of money to takes its place.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and the less important people just never go away! November 10 Sis has finally graduated....It was just one of those things... looks easy but the pain and tears behind it, no one but yourself will understand.
I'm glad joan made it! It's been a super tough time for her... working and studying and supporting herself through school these 4 yrs.
So, despite her loony-ness.... I'm really VERY proud of her!!!
Check out the proud faces of parents and bro...
We cannot do without our trademark madness....
And mine... (psssst: i fell down right after the shot! IT WAS EMBARRASSING!!!)...
Not to forget our dearest grandpa... LOL!! He's super game ok!!! 92yrs old and can still do the 'peace sign'!!
For more of the pictures... pls click here November 04 ewey's early birthday celebration10 days early... but hey, better early den late hor? :P
Was offered a choice of Mortons and dunno wat else... but instead, i took a recommendation from Cang and went to Les Bouchons Rive Gauche @ Robertson Quay. (the recommendation was den echoed by ginz who thinks i SHD go there as well...)
On second thoughts, I SO SHOULD HAVE GONE TO MORTON'S! IT WOULD HAVE COST SO MUCH MORE! MUAHAHAHAHH!!!
LoL... ok, i was joking... wherever it was. The company was great, the food was great and as long as i'm not paying... i really have no complains!!!! :p
It was really quiet wen we went in (i guess cos itz a monday night)... the wines look quite enticing (but i dun drink so...LOL!!!)
The lighting was not really bright enuff for photo taking so the joker closed eyes to take picture becos my flash light was just too much to take!!!! And oh, the steak was really good... the lamb skewer too... and the escargoes... was yummy as well!!! (Note: escargoes... lovely to eat, bad to take picture of it! so NO PHOTOS!)
Thanks bud!!! For the lovely dinner... :p |
